NEW BUSINESS & RENEWAL SPECIALIST
Position summary
New Business and Renewal Specialist assists the assigned benefits sales consultants in all aspects of the day-to-day duties associated with generating new and renewal business quotes and presentations for medical, dental, life insurance and other ancillary products. Time management and accuracy is of the utmost importance so you must be able to prioritize. Take a polite, but assertive, attitude with carriers regarding quotes and underwriting status.
Essential functions
- Provide administrative support to team members including: initiating carrier/client correspondence, preparing/binding presentation materials for client/prospect meetings, and updating client information via the company’s client database (CAPS).
- Initiate census data gathering with existing clients and new prospects. Obtain marketing quotes from respective carriers based on the census data received.
- Assist with Easy Apps.
- May be asked to assist with open enrollment meetings.
- Enter quote information into Excel spreadsheet with accuracy.
- Prepare comparison spreadsheets using Bukaty Companies' template with data from carrier quotes.
- Review client applications in advance of carrier submission to ensure participant data is correct and complete. Provide follow up where needed.
- Submit applications to the carriers.
- Practice proactive follow-up on all outstanding issues by communicating status of each to agent producers.
- Update client database after each renewal.
Requirements
Education: High school education required, college degree preferred
Experience: Insurance industry experience preferred
Specific Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Internet; Highly organized, accuracy with data and numbers; deadline sensitive
Licensing: Kansas and Missouri Life & Health License preferred
